More and more companies today are focused on the idea of green operations and working to reduce carbon emissions. Coworking spaces today are working to provide a number of environmental benefits when it comes to generating improvements for workers and their workplace environment as well as in forming improvements for the environment. With many people switching over to coworking spaces instead of traditional offices, we are quickly discovering that coworking could be an excellent option in improving environmental conditions worldwide. Here are three of the top coworking spaces worldwide and how they are adopting green operations to save the environment!
Hive Vancouver
The Hive in Vancouver is a space that is focused primarily on social impact community collaboration. The company is doing everything possible to make sure that all of its employees are safe and comfortable in the working environment. One of the largest environmental initiatives that Hive is taking on is its new indoor bike parking. Users of the coworking space don’t have to worry about their bikes being stolen or vandalized while they are at work. As a reward for employees that are choosing to reduce carbon emissions by riding their bike, they can access an exclusive underground parking that secures and stores bikes while they are at work. Hive also is a completely green building design which is designed to offset all carbon emissions produced by the building. The business is almost entirely sustainable with its solar power and green building products.
Our Space
Our Space in Spain is designed with incredible amenities for many of its staff including the option of unlimited drinks, on-site fitness and yoga as well as 24/7 access with advanced security thumbprint technology. One aspect of Our Space that introduces environmentalism is the large number of plants which are used throughout the construction of the building. The coworking space has a beautiful view of the ocean in Mirabella and a variety of oceanside plants have been integrated into the architectural design of the building. Our Space also introduces a bike share program to ensure that core working members and their clients can travel around the city using environmentally friendly transportation. Our Space and it’s membership fees also fund a non-profit environmental charity which has created a protected arbor re-up.
Spark Labs
Spark Labs located in Union Square branch New York City is one of the most interesting coworking spaces in New York. One of the most interesting aspects of the building is that it has a complete farm in house as well. Spark Labs works with Babylon Farms, a company that specializes in locally grown organic crops which are cultivated using vertical farming!
With such a wide range of coworking spaces the worldwide, it’s crucial to understand this new phenomenon as it continues to create a social impact within the business world. As we continue to see coworking spaces that herald new projects in environmentalism we can begin to understand just how important these spaces can be for funding projects that generate improvements for the future of our world!
